Weekly classes:

Tuesdays, 12noon-1pm, University of Bristol, Hatha Yoga (staff class): Weekly lunchtime practice on Brandon Hill, when weather permits, designed to help people who spent most of their days at a desk or in meetings, to shift their focus and reset their mind and body. Focusing on drawing the attention inwards, minimising the impact of peripheral distractions, reducing the effects of stress and tension, and cultivating a calmer, more composed way of being,both on the mat and when returning to the world of work.

Fridays, 7am-8am, Hatha Vinyasa Flow, Yogafurie (starts 4 Oct 2019) : This morning flow will gently awaken your body, fine-tune your mind, and harness the energy you need to greet the day. Come and enjoy a thoughtful session that will guide your attention inwards, via creative sequences that focus on a different component of the practice, philosophical theme or anatomical area each week. Usually accompanied by a carefully curated playlist, we'll move through a range of asanas (postures) to get the energy flowing, and find stillness in longer holds to build focus and flexibility. Class rounds off with some pranayama (breathwork) to energise and meditation to soothe. Open to people of all abilities, with modifications and support offered throughout for beginners, as well as adaptations for more experienced students looking to deepen their practice.

Sundays, 11.30am-12.30pm, Pure Yoga, Hatha Flow: A well-rounded Hatha practice that steadily builds momentum and guides your attention inwards, allowing you to move with intention and confidence. Expect to flow through a series of asanas (postures) that will shift your energy with the aid of uplifting music. The class will gently draw to a close by guiding you to a place of physical and mental stillness, concluding with pranayama (breath work) and meditation. Accessible to beginners as well as those with more experience.

Yoga in the workplace: The physical and mental benefits of practicing yoga can be especially beneficial if you work a desk-based job or spend much of your day in an environment that taxes your body and your mind, whether that’s owing to sitting, standing or moving in a repetitive or sedentary way for long periods, or the general mental strain that comes with the demands and expectations of working life. If this is something you, your colleagues and/or your workplace could benefit from, drop me a line and we can discuss ways of introducing a regular or drop-in class into your space.



Saturday 26 October, 2pm-3.30pm, Yoga & Journaling Workshop, Pure Yoga, Bristol: Are you a keen or aspiring scribbler? Would you like to learn how putting pen to paper can deepen your understanding of yourself and your yoga practice? Come get creative and find your flow by combining the power of words with the joy of movement. We'll settle in with a guided meditation, followed by an uplifting yoga class, leading to some inspiring writing exercises to focus the mind and help you express yourself more skillfully. All you need is a notebook and pen or pencil, and a willingness to give it a go!
